Embodiment Yoga Therapy

Supporting trauma, mental health and emotional resilience

When was the last time you truly felt at ease and safe in your body? For those who have experienced ongoing stress, trauma, depression or anxiety, it can leave you feeling uncomfortable, unsafe or disconnected from your own body. You may find yourself looking for ways to push down or avoid the feelings that come up and look for ways to avoid people or situations that trigger these sensations. The trouble is, the feelings never really go away.

Yoga therapy offers a safe place to come home to: relief from tension held in the body, a nourishing environment to regulate your nervous system and somatic practices to manage intense feelings and sensations that come up during day to day life.

All yoga therapy sessions are offered by certified Embodiment Yoga Therapist™ Melissa Redden. Melissa is also a registered Yoga Teacher, certified Somatic Thai Massage practitioner and wellness professional specializing in perinatal support.

Individual Yoga Therapy

Using a trauma-sensitive approach, your yoga therapy session is tailored for your unique needs to invite safety and ease in your body.

Nourishing restorative postures and reflective practices help you start to connect with safety and ease. Somatic Thai Massage helps to invite movement, relaxation and sensation into the body. Breath work, meditation and dynamic movement allow us to lean into areas that are ready to move and to explore creating new patterns in the physical, mental and emotional bodies.

How would you like to feel? Let’s explore how can we work together to help you experience that feeling.

Group Yoga Therapy

Group yoga therapy allows you to access the benefits of individual yoga therapy sessions in a cost-effective way. Our trauma-sensitive group practice is a safe space where each individual is welcomed exactly as they are, and as a collective group we cultivate a sense of community and co-regulation.

Each group yoga therapy class series includes a personal consultation and assessment, six group yoga therapy sessions and a personal 30 minute virtual meeting to wrap-up your experience and set goals for moving forward.

Next class series: TBD

If you feel your organization or clients might benefit from group yoga therapy, please reach out to discuss program availability.
